Student Project Opportunities
We welcome students who would like to temporarily join our team for small research projects, summer projects, bachelor thesis projects, or master thesis projects. If you are interested in doing a project with us, please contact us well ahead of time. Our group is still small and to ensure high quality supervision we can therefore only allow a restricted number of student projects at a time. Please also note that due to the nature of our research, we highly recommend students to commit to projects of longer duration (at least 9 weeks (15 credits), preferred 18 weeks (30 credits)).
Students enrolled at Umeå University
Being part of the Department of Molecular Biology at Umeå University, we offer several kinds of project courses, including “Project in Molecular Biology”, “Advanced Project in Molecular Biology”, and “Practice in Molecular Biology” (also known as summer projects), as well as bachelor degree and master degree thesis projects. International students
International students have the possibility to conduct research projects in our lab through student exchange programs (such as ERASMUS, ERASMUS+, or equivalent). In most cases this will require the student first to register with the exchange program and later with one of our department’s courses in Molecular Biology. In some circumstances, if the student’s home university allows, international students can also conduct their bachelor or master degree thesis projects in our lab. We are an international group and embrace diversity.
